Carrion Crows | Corvus corone

England, April 2018

Carrion crow calls and wingbeats, recorded using two mini, omnidirectional microphones attached directly to hedgerow vegetation with wooden clothes pegs.

The recording captures a brief period of excitement as several adults take flight. A smaller, unidentified bird (likely Emberiza citrinella, which was holding a territory nearby) is also audible as it makes its way through the surrounding hedge.
