England, June 2017
A song thrush, singing clearly from the very top of a common ash tree on the edge of a Cotswold meadow. Wood pigeon wingbeats and chiffchaff song are audible in the background, amongst sounds from other bird species.
This excerpt from a longer, four-minute recording is a superb example of an extended portion of Turdus philomelos song, revealing the subtleties of its phrasing and structure in detail.
